I recently found out some interesting news about Dee El (DL) my black dog with white feet which I have blogged about before.
As it turns out that while my step son and his grandfather were helping out some Hurricane Gutsav evacuees at our local church, which is just right up the road from our house, they met a women who was from the coast that had been here once before during the Hurricane Katrina evacuation.
All that I know from what I was retold, was that she came up here from New Orleans with a little black dog and when she left to go back home she could not catch him and she had to leave.
Larry (Justins Granddad) asked her what did the dog look like. She explained and decribed DL exactly, he told me. He then told her ” I know right where he is… he lives now righ up the road from here.” She said “oh wonderful as long as someone is taking care of him and he has a good home, thats all I care about.”
She didn’t seem to want him back. I think he told me that she didnt want him back if he was in a better place with someone that could take good care of him. I think she may have been older and didnt want what may have been a burden to her any longer.

This would explain why for the longest time, he was always around the church. Everyone there called him Baptist Bob.
This also explains why no one around here claimed him and he was just a wanderer for so long till he found our loving home.
We love DL and thank god for him. I have only had one great dog in my life and I never thought I would ever have another. DL is my other. I love Jack too! Lets not forget about him.
More pics of Jack coming sometime soon.
